Did you go to a barbecue this Memorial Day Weekend?

This past weekend, I headed over to my cousins house for a barbecue. Lucky for me, this barbecue was nowhere near as painful as the one he had on July 4^th, 2009.

That was the unfortunate day on which I walked into a cactus.

Twice.

This Cactus only looks innocent!

I really wasn’t paying attention to where I was going because I was busy watching the July 4^th fireworks-- a tradition that no American can go without on Independence Day! The most painful part wasn’t even walking into the cactus because actually walking into a cactus doesn’t hurt all that much. It’s the realization that you’ve walked into a cactus which shocks you and then hurts like crazy. When you finally realize that you have a million cactus needles in you, your throat starts to close, your legs start to wobble, and your body feels like it's going to collapse. Alright, perhaps I’m being just a little bit dramatic…

As a result of this terrible experience, I’m always on the lookout for other events that I can go to instead of my family barbecues where I am likely to run into another cactus. I’ve been scoping out some of One To World’s events, especially their ‘NO PASSPORT REQUIRED III’ event at Taj Lounge on June 14^th.

All proceeds will benefit One To World’s enrichment programs so it’s a great way to help make a difference while having a good time. There will be an open signature cocktail bar , a live DJ, a luxury raffle, and guests from all over the world.
